Furniture in the 20th Century
An exhibition identity explored through posters, a type book, and printed applications.

One exhibition.
Different voices.
A study of how typography can shape the way we experience an exhibition.
I created these posters and a type book around a furniture exhibition featuring Noguchi, Saarinen, Jacobson, Mies van der Rohe, Breuer, and Eames. The exhibition content became a starting point for exploring how type and imagery work together.
For the book, each week introduced a different design rule. Working within those constraints, I explored new ways to arrange the same information, from restrained typographic hierarchy to larger, more expressive compositions.
Created as a design project for an exhibition brief.

The same exhibition content changes as each new rule introduces another possibility. The studies explore hierarchy, weight, oblique type, scale, axis, rules, extreme scale, color, and imagery.
